The Pittsburgh Pirates games have been a beloved local tradition for many years. With their focus on family fun, it's no secret why. My kids were thrilled to explore and play at PNC Park. They enjoyed delicious snacks and even ran the actual bases. Here are seven things to do with kids at a Pittsburgh Pirates Game.
1. Family Fun Days

Every Sunday, May-August, Federal Street will be closed off before the game. There will be various family fun activities. The day we attended there was bounce houses, game faces, a DJ truck, and more.
2. The Play Areas at the River Walk

This was a fan favorite with my kiddos. There are three play areas along the river walk. The first is a large pirate ship you can climb up, the second is a bridge that the kids love to bounce and climb across, and the third is more of a traditional play area with super cute baseball theming.
3. First Game Certificate

If it's your kid's first game, head to guest services for a 1st game certificate! The worker was kind and took her time with the kids to make them feel special.
4. Sign Up for the Bucaroos Kids Club

Do this tip before the game, visit this link to sign up for the Bucaroos Kids Club. Kids 14 and under can access member-only benefits all season long. Silver memberships are currently free.
5. Snacks!

Is it really a trip to the ball field if you don't indulge in some yummy treats? We had chicken tenders, fries, popcorn, and ice cream. They were 10/10 kid-approved!
6. Make your own Topps Card

Stop by the team store and make your own Topps card. A digital photo is free and they have props there for you to use. You can also purchase a physical card.
7. Run the Bases
At the end of the games, your kids are invited to run the actual bases on PNC Park's field.
If you’re looking for an unforgettable family outing this summer, the Pittsburgh Pirates Family Fun Days should be at the top of your list. With kid-friendly activities, interactive games, and the thrill of a live baseball game, there’s something for everyone and it's absolutely worth the trip. After experiencing it with my own family, this event has officially earned a spot on our annual summer must-do list.
