Macaroni Kid North Huntingdon is proud to introduce our first annual "Home for the Holidays" series! One of my main goals as publisher of Macaroni Kid North Huntingdon is to help connect the families within our community to our locally-owned and operated businesses and organizations. What better way to strengthen our community than by supporting our own neighbors?
Throughout this series, Macaroni Kid North Huntingdon will feature family-friendly businesses and organizations found right here in Westmoreland County, who have generously sponsored some exciting giveaway opportunities for our subscribers! It is my hope that our readers will be encouraged and inspired to shop, dine, and find entertainment locally, not only during the holiday season, but all year-round!
This week's featured organization is Music Together by Miss Jen, which offers classes throughout the year for ages birth through 5 years old, along with a parent or caregiver, at two different locations in Irwin and Murrysville. Music Together is an international, research-based music and movement program that offers many benefits including fun-filled family time, support for your child's music-learning and overall development, and an opportunity to make new friends!
In regards to her experience at Music Together by Miss Jen, local mom, Mary Popelas, writes:
"Since 2014, my family and I have had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the Music Together program. We attended classes with three of the four teachers, Ms. Jen, Ms. Eileen and Mr. Paul; each of whom brings so much fun and energy to their respective class. My first year, in particular, was such an amazing experience for my older son. He was very shy around others, and through the magic of music, I was able to watch him flourish socially. The Music Together music is such a big part of our daily lives also! We listen to it in the car, on Alexa at home, and on our phone App. Both of my sons (ages 5 and 2) enjoy the music and making up their own words and dances. And because the teachers create such a relaxing and engaging environment, it is pretty amazing to see what our children retain from each class. Sometimes, my son will sit there silently the whole class and not participate, but the next time we are in the car and the music comes on, he will mimic the hand gestures our teacher uses for that particular song. It's SO amazing to see their brain develop through music. I feel so lucky we found this fun program and look forward to each new semester. In addition, I have met some local moms through the class and we get the kids together for play dates. In summary, this program has been (and will continue to be) a great learning and social program for our family."
