Join the Winnie Palmer Nature Reserve at St. Vincent College on Saturday, May 4 from 1 to 5 p.m. to celebrate Westmoreland Earth Day and Party for the Planet!
The goal of Party for the Planet is to demonstrate the connections that exist between members of the community and our local natural resources, heighten environmental awareness, and increase citizen involvement in environmental organizations.
This is a FREE event and is perfect for families! There will be activities, music, face painting, marketplace vendors, exhibitors, fun crafts, food, and more!

2:00-2:30 Citizen Science Hike with WPNR

- Face Painting by Greensburg Salem High School Environmental Club
- Science of Sustainable Living Undergraduate Student Re-Purpose Project Show-N-Tell – What can you do with everyday items you would throw away?
- Music by DJ Absolute Sound, Latrobe PA
- Character Costumes by What a Character Mascots
- Free Vanilla Cones from Allied Milk Producers Board
- Free Native Seed Packet to first 200 guests sponsored by First Energy Corporation
- Lots of Live Animals – Insects, Rabbits, Pony, Dogs, Reptiles, and more!
- Visits by Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl
- Sustainable Art Activities with Latrobe Art Center
Parking
Minimal Parking Available at the Winnie Palmer Nature Reserve off-of Route 981 North – across from the Latrobe, Dairy Queen.
Additional parking at the Fred Rogers Center Lot A on Saint Vincent College Campus. Earth Day Shuttles will run 12–5 p.m., or an easy five- minute walk via Saint Vincent Drive and the Tall Grass Trail to the Learning Center Barn.
